Airbus/Local Motors Cargo Drone Challenge

 

This is my contribution to the Cargo Drone Challenge, initiated by Local Motors in collaboration with Airbus. Basically announced as a more engineering focused competition, I took the task to ask whether the look will find a relevant part in such a product.. The goal was to find a form language which is presents the technology harmless, natural and aesthetic. The dragonfly was the inspiration for this, as a friendly animal, which has stunning flight skills, that are comparable to such a drone.
